Vantage Builders completed a new, 22,000-square-foot office build-out for a natural gas utility in Western Massachusetts. The location will house the utility’s customer service call center and a conference and training facility, which are being relocated from a nearby facility. 
 
A key element of this project was the very quick timeframe.  The experienced Vantage team was able to complete the work within seven weeks of signing the contract.
 
The site required an entire redesign, to allow for a layout required by a call center.  Prior to conducting the internal demolition work, Vantage performed a complete abatement process.  Following plans from Saccoccio & Associates, Vantage created an efficient and flexible workplace that fosters teamwork.
 
The location has two 30-person conference rooms and approximately 120 workstations.  The workstations are outfitted with Allsteel products, with dual monitors on articulating arms and wardrobe storage units.  
 
Mobile pedestals with cushion tops throughout the office enable impromptu meetings and encourage collaboration.  A breakroom and kitchenette has high-top seating, pendant lights and a large-screen television.  A mother’s room provides a private, dedicated space for nursing mothers. 
 
The new training center is comprised of two 1,000-square-foot rooms, each of which feature state-of-the-art audio-visual equipment and can accommodate up to 24 individuals.  Modular tables, with modesty panels, provide the company with flexibility in setting up custom training sessions.  Completing the build-out, Vantage installed new HVAC and electrical systems, including a back-up generator, as well as new paint, carpeting and other finishes. 
 
The project team included Cushman & Wakefield as the owner’s project manager (OPM) and Engineering Design Services, Inc. for engineering services.
